Maya Hutchins, a very private and highly successful author, is suffering from a worrying bout of writer’s block. With her first book about to be made into a movie, she finally has a glimmer of a new story idea. She takes a risk of exposing her identity and lands a job as a lowly assistant on the set. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she is soon thrust into the role of personal assistant to the biggest star of the film.

David Riley, hot Hollywood star, decides he needs a break from LA after being dumped by his latest girlfriend. With his usual personal assistant about to give birth to her first child, David travels halfway around the world to Australia on his own. Expecting to be met at the airport by his new temporary PA, Maurice, he instead is faced with Maya.

Ill-equipped to babysit a fully grown man virtually around the clock, Maya quickly begins to wonder if taking on the role of a PA is a good idea. David Riley is rich, spoiled and completely unable to fend for himself. He is also charming, funny and incredibly gorgeous. She has the disturbing feeling that their lives might never be the same when the filming is finally done.

I bought this book thinking that I would probably bounce between it and a couple of other books. I've been reading a lot lately and it's been hard for a book to keep my attention all the way through. I gotta say, "Sometimes the Ending Sucks" sucked me right in and I read it straight through. I'm surprised at how much I liked, and laughed at, this book so I'm leaving a review to try to get others to read it.

The set-up with the h didn't capture my attention immediately, but within a few page flips on my Kindle, I met the H and spent the next couple of hours grinning and outright laughing. The h, with good reason, put herself into a situation that was completely out of her range of experience. I liked that she reacted logically to the requests (demands?) made of her at the beginning, but as she got drawn deeper into the closed, artificial environment of a movie set, her decisions became more flawed. And the laughter started in earnest.

I really enjoyed the supporting characters -- they stayed true to who they were and didn't have to have personality/brain transplants to support unbelievable plot twists. I will definitely put this author on my watch list.

I'm surprised that no one else has reviewed it yet. I sincerely hope that doesn't mean that no one else has read it yet. I can only assume that the cover may not attract enough readers, because the content is surely worth reading.

laughed, cried, ended happy! all the things to keep me reading… by the end i couldnt put it down but didnt want it to end! looking forward to her next book
WOW! SUPERB! I loved this story. I laughed. I cried. I wanted to hit him, the spoilt, childish, gorgeous film star. I was so involved with these characters, I didn't want the book to end. Janine Jensen is an incredible author and just gets better and better with each book she writes. Also by JJ is Remembering April and Rescue. Give them a read. You won't regret it.
